This is the first session of a course taught by Hubert Dreyfus at the University of California, Berkeley in Spring 2005 on The Phenomenology of Perception. The wonderful voice of Dreyfus is the perfect thing to listen to on this eighth day of ‘shelter in place.’ Several of his courses have been preserved by Archive.org.
Philosophy 6, taught by Hubert Dreyfus. This is the first lecture (the sound has some glitches in the beginning but improves). The rest of the course is on Archive.org and includes lectures on The Odyssey, Oresteia, Aeneid, Gospel of John, The Divine Comedy, Pascal’s Pensees, and Moby Dick.
My 2008 online project, Isolatoes, was a direct result of listening in on this class.
